Boston Day Trip

After a couple days of hanging out in Connecticut, my family took a day trip to Boston! Sadly, Michael and Annika had to fly back to Utah for school and Ben had to stay back and work on his dissertation. But the rest of us were there! It was the Jennings in our van and my parents along with Steven, Paige and baby William in their car. This was our first time going to Boston since moving to CT and we were pleased to find out it really isn't too bad of a drive - just less than an hour and a half and we were there! 

We started the day in Public Garden. Ooh and I should also mention it was hot, like 90 degrees hot and humid hot so I'm just warning that maybe to how we look in pictures haha.

Then we walked from there through Beacon Hill and up to Quincy Market. We ate some yummy lunches and then continued on the freedom trail.

Then we headed over to the USS Constitution and met up with the Cooks and the Nixons. They both lived in Boston at the time but the Nixons have now moved back west since he finished his MBA and the Cooks have been in Utah all summer for an internship. Tyler was determined to see them all in Boston while he could! These 3 buddies from freshman year now have a brood of 10 more with 3 wives and 7 children :)

We decided to finish the day in Cambridge and hung out with the Harvard crowd. It was actually their graduation that day so we avoided it earlier on purpose but still even in the evening it was quite crowded. It was fun to see some graduates walking around in caps and lots of alumni wearing lanyards and pins with their name and graduating class. We spent a lot of time in a really cute curious george bookstore (apparently its the only C.G store in the world) and Jackson is a huge fan of the movie, shows and books so it was a perfect destination.

A lot of walking and spending most of the day outside resulted in one tired little boy. We had just barely gotten on the freeway to leave the city when we turned around and this boy was out. Abbie had been asleep within 2 minutes of getting in the car also. But it was probably only about 7:15 when he fell asleep, his earliest bedtime ever.
