Saturday night we dyed some easter eggs and Jackson got a kick out of watching the eggs change colors!
Jackson woke up and saw his basket that the Easter bunny left for him - of course he was immediately drawn to the Thomas the train pez dispenser :)

He found some of the eggs that were hidden around the house but honestly didn't get a huge thrill by it. He then noticed some cars over by the couch and decided they looked like more fun than jelly beans. Maybe he just knew he wasn't supposed to eat candy for breakfast :)

We showed him some eggs were hidden outside but he wanted to shoot hoops instead, his dad was so proud haha.

Tyler showed him his presents from grammy and he loved that he got a new swim suit with cars all over it, kinda perfect for the obsessed boy.

The kid likes his routine though, and started asking for breakfast right after that. He and Tyler have been making lots of smoothies and shakes in the blender lately and this is what he requested this morning. He loves to sit on the counter and help put in all the ingredients!

He loves drinking his shake with a straw and always rubs his tummy saying "mmmmm" throughout the process

We got Jackson dressed up in his Easter outfit but he would not look at me and smile for pictures so these are the best I got!

It was so nice that Tyler didn't have meetings before church but he still went early to save us a seat n the chapel. Our ward was split this summer but if you're not there 15 minutes early -- you are back in the hard folding chairs -- not so ideal for a 2 year old and his 39 week pregnant mom.

Jackson and I hung out at home a little bit longer (aka I finished getting ready) and I was surprised that he didn't scream when I put on his new sandals. For some reason he has been freaking out about new shoes - he's growing out of his tennis shoes and it's getting hot here so it's the season for sandals! But no, he had screamed when I put these sandals and some other flip flops on him over the past month. It was an Easter miracle that he wore these for all of church!

He was such a good boy at church and didn't cry or fuss once during the sacrament meeting service. It was nice to enjoy the Easter program and listen to the messages. This was my last sunday without a baby at church for a while!
After church we spent the day together as a family. Last year we had a few couples over for a big Easter dinner and would have loved to do that again but didn't think we could plan anything with baby coming so soon. We didn't have a ham so tyler grilled pork chops and I made the traditional cheesy potatoes, green beans and rolls. I also made a strawberry coconut cake for dessert that turned out great!

Jackson took a mega three hour nap and he stayed up late running around the house with Tyler and we were able to FaceTime with both our families.
It was a great day and end to our last weekend as a family of three...
