Kind of a Big Deal ...

Some of you may have seen The Cook Family's Post - Embroidered Onesies.

The talented Jamie Cook made adorable onesies for Jackson with quotes his daddy was known for in college...

Here is Jackson wearing one of them with pride! Tyler liked this picture best because in his glory days, he used to do a similar pose with his arms in the air haha!

Jackson is such a big deal, just like his daddy :-)

Thanks Jamie!

Jackson's Nursery

I had been waiting to post pictures of Jackson's nursery until I got everything finished. But ... I'm realizing that might not be for a while, so here it is. My mom made pretty much everything you can see. The valance, bumper pads, crib skirt, quilt, table cloth, and pillows! I'd like to say we made them, but all I did was pick out some fabrics and cut some squares. She did an amazing job - I never would have imagined it look so great, better than anything you can buy! I still need to hang some more things up on the walls and get a couple other things - but here it is!

The perfect little nursery for the perfect little baby :-)

The room isn't too big, but we got the furniture to fit ... just barely!

I had 4 packs of newborn diapers, I'll be returning one of the boxes since Jackson outgrew them before we could even use them!!

I got that diaper bag for Christmas, my mom and sister bought it for me out while she was still working at Nordstrom last summer, before I was even pregnant. So at that point I hadn't even thought about nursery colors. When I chose black and white last fall, I had no idea my bag would match haha.

These bumper pads were probably the most intense thing she made. We just kinda made it up as we were going - turned out great!

Here's the quilt all laid out!

And here is Jackson as I get ready in the bathroom, he hangs out with me - such a chill baby! He hasn't cried today (yet) he's whined and grunted a bit, but no crying. It's only 1 pm, but still - how amazing is this kid!

4 weeks

The past four weeks have gone by so incredibly fast, but it also seems like I've been with Jackson forever. It's freaking me out that he'll be ONE MONTH OLD on Saturday ...

Last week we had Tyler's mom visit from Utah. She thought we were going to be waiting for her at the curb, but we surprised her and were waiting inside the terminal. Tyler took this video of the Jackson's first meeting of Grandma Jennings!

Tyler's dad was also able to come out, and joined Grandma for the weekend. It was great to have them here, not only to see Jackson, but also to visit us in Florida for the first time. We had a great time showing them around Windermere, they went out boating and jet skiing, and we even took Jackson to Disney World - Hollywood Studios - for a few hours.

Thanks to the Baby Bjorn, I took Jackson on his first ride at DisneyWorld - Toy Story Mania!

This was taken at the Beauty and the Beast show, you can see how thrilling it was for Jackson. JK ... he pretty much slept the whole time we were at Disney.

They left yesterday, and now for the first time since he's been born, we're getting adjusted into our new life. It was great to have 2 Grandmas, Aunt Paige, and Grandpa all visit Jackson this past month. Since we live so far away from family, it was truly a blessing. Now, all the visitors are gone, and we can be with just our new little family. I've gotten used to always being able to hand Jackson to someone to hold if I needed to get something done - and with Tyler out at work today - its just me for the first time! But I'm so grateful for this time with Jackson! I love spending all my time with him, there's nothing I'd rather be doing in life than being his mom. He is such a good baby, we are so blessed!!

We don't have another doctor appointment until next month, but I'm pretty sure he weighs well over 10 pounds now. He weighed 9 lb. 7 oz. 2 weeks ago, and he's definitely grown since then. He'll be outgrown of most of his newborn clothes by next week and now its time for the 0-3 month sizes! Check out that belly!

19 Days Old

It's been 19 days since Jackson was born, but it seems like a lifetime ago that I was in the hospital giving birth to the little guy. He is so precious and has made everything so easy for Tyler and me. He eats every 3 hours during the day and goes more than 4 hours during the night. So I've only had to wake up once a night (around 3 am) for the past two weeks. He normally goes to sleep really easily, and hardly cries. And it doesn't hurt that he is ADORABLE and really never looked like an "awkward newborn." Everyone asks me "how did you give birth to a 9 pound baby??" and I really don't know, mainly because epidurals are amazing :-) But honestly, I hope all my babies are big because it's helped him be such a better eater and sleeper.

I have NO idea how we got so lucky with Jackson, but he truly has been a PERFECT baby so far. My mom says he's acting more like a 2-month old than a 2-week old.

Another reason why it's been so easy is because my mom came out for 10 days and helped out so much! She is a first time grandma and had been waiting with excitement to take upon this new title with Jackson's arrival. She left last Tuesday and we've been missing Grandma, but we'll see her again next month in Arizona!

My sister came out last week also, so we've had her help since Grandma left, but she just left this morning. It was so great to have the help from them and Jackson and I miss them already...

We were able to have lots of fun with Aunt Paige - we went on lots of walks, trips to the pool, we went to the mall, Downtown Disney & even went out to dinner. And of course - Jackson was perfect for all these outings!

So today (for the first time) I'm home alone with Jackson while Tyler's at work. It's been a fun morning hanging out with Jackson - a little preview of what life will really be like. But tomorrow we are lucky enough to have Tyler's mom visit for 5 days - Jackson is so lucky to have 2 grandmas that love him so much!!

At his 2 week appointment he weighed 9 pounds 7 ounces, so ya he's big - but look at his skinny little legs! His arms are pretty skinny too. He does have a big tummy and a couple extra rolls on his neck that help him get up to 9 pounds.

He loves his swing so much (and as I type this he is sleeping in it)

Jackson loved to grab onto Aunt Paige's hair!

During his "tummy time" he likes to see himself in the mirror. He's so strong and already is lifting his head up really well.

Jackson is amazing. I love him so much!

Happy Easter

Here are some pictures from our Easter weekend, hope you all had a great holiday! Jackson is incredible, it's been great to have him with us this Easter. He cries for about 45 seconds each day, falls asleep quickly, eats like a champ, and is on a great schedule that he just established pretty much on his own.

Life is good :-)
